Summertime!

We had a busy and fun summer.   We went to the mountains, took swimming lessons and played outside a lot.  Even with all that we still had time for mischief.   Here are a few pictures....

My Favorite Things 15-18 Months

1.  I love how long you look in the crib.
2. You said your first sentence..."Dah Dah Bye!"
3.  Diiiiisssss--"This"
4.  You like doing football feet...
5.  You cross your feet when you're sitting
6.  You stand with your hands behind your back--so poised!
7.  Your favorite animal is the chicken--bock bock.
8.  You tee-tee'd in the potty for the first time at 16 months....and you strain so hard that you shake
9.  I can walk outside and say..."shew-wee" and you say "HOT."  Gotta love South Georgia summers!
10. You use our fingers to point to things
11.  You can feed yourself applesauce (17 months)
12.  You are embarrassed when you get caught being ugly by strangers in public.
13.  You like the push the buggy at the bottom.
14.  You climb on everything!
15.  You say broom-broom when playing with cars and trucks.
16.  You hold your head with your hands no matter which part you hurt.
17.  Say BOOM when you hear thunder.
18.  When I fell down you looked over at me and said...Oooohhh!
19.  You clucked like a chicken at both Sandra Bulloch in Mrs. Congeniality on TV and at all the Williford's when they came through the door.
20.  You like to shake hands with everyone---"Howdy Do!"
21.  Got to throw rocks in the river when we went to the mountains this summer and you loved it
22.  You got to ride in the mechanical cars at the outlet malls and wanted Pop to put in more quarters.

29.  CHHHH---it could be cheese, chips or fish
30.  Will call for your pash, and will stand on your head to look under things for it.
31.  You can do a forward roll all by yourself.
32.  Will play the piano and sing---aaaahh
33.  When you saw the Christmas trees at Hobby Lobby, you stopped, looked up, and said OOOOHHHH!
34.  Daddy has taught you to water different spots in the yards and you love your wagon and being sat-side
35.  You like to color, cut the lights on and off, open and shut the garage, dust, and wipe up with a rag.
36.  You like to put on mommy's flip flops and attempt to walk in them.
37.  We love the way you grab our finger and motion for us to come there.
38.  We love the way you turn your hands up when you want to be held. 

First Haircut

 I didn't have the first hair on my head until I was over a year old.  Not so with Hunter.  Brad very fondly said that we were bringing the mullet back.   His hair was so long in the back and well beyond his ears--not to mention that people were beginning to say "she" and "her."   It was time.

Hunter was such a big boy.  He sat in the chair the whole time and was very still until she started trimming around his ears.  My little baby was gone in just a couple of snips and emerged quite the little boy.

Easter Sunday!

We made our annual trip to Wrens for Easter.  After church we went to Nanny's for lunch and then had the Egg Hunt!  Hunter liked finding eggs...however, he wanted to open them to see what was inside--not continue to hunt for more.  He will learn in time to be a master egg hunter like his mama!  This year we established the motivation for hunting eggs (other than the thrill of victory).  Next year we will focus more on collection!

Sandbox!

We finally got sand for the sandbox that Brad built for Hunter's birthday. He loves it. I can tell that we are going to spend lots of time outside this summer with a very dirty boy! His favorite thing to do on his first trip to the sandbox was to destroy everything we built. If we made a mold he smashed it. If we make a pile he slashed it. He wasn't too keen on the sand in his mouth...

Hunter had so much fun at his 1st Birthday Party!  Family and friends from Brad's office helped us eat lots of good food.  Granny Pat decorated the cake after I slaved over all the layers.  Some of the favorite things from the party were:


1.  You loved all the presents, especially the bags!  You wanted to take out all the tissue paper from each one and then move on.
2.  You tossed the clothes and other items out of your boxes one at a time over your shoulder.
3.  You mushed your cake on your actual birthday, but at your party, you leaned over and took a bite!
4.  You tried to take Cadence's pash---and she told you, "No! No! No!"
5.  Your party was on one of the first pretty days of the year.  It has been a cold rainy winter, but the sun was shining on your special day!

My Favorite Things 12 Months

We can't believe that a year has flown by.  You have changed so much.   Time flies when you're having fun.  You are a joy, and we can't remember what we did before you came along!

1.  You love the knock knock game--you close the door and want us to knock
2.  You figured out how to feed Hadley
3.  You waved bye this month--and you have only done it a couple of times
4.  We love how everything is amazing to you---your curiosity is inspiring
5.  You are 100% male--you think bathroom noises are funny--and nobody taught you that they were!
6.  You don't like diet coke.
7.  You love your wagon.
8.  You figured out how to open the child-proof cabinet locks.
9.  You got to pet a bunny rabbit at Anderson's General Store.
10.  You drank from a straw for the first time.
11.  Your first hard-bottomed shoes were a pair of red keds from Mema.
12.  You love to throw the ball for Hadley.
13.  You crawled into the living room, said "uff-uff" and tried to pick up the tennis ball with your mouth.
14.  You can turn off the light switch.
15.  Your saw your first snow---you wanted to touch it while it was falling.
16.  You can roar like a lion
17.  You pat us when you hug us now.
18.  You have 7 teeth
19.  You are really walking everywhere!
